The answers given to the Oracle ASM Configuration Assistant (asmca) to create the three disk groups of the database. The fourth disk group of the cluster, OCR on ASMDISK1, was created by the Grid Infrastructure installer and is not part of this document.

PROVISIONED is the header status of a disk that ASMLib has labelled and that belongs to no disk group yet. External redundancy means ASM keeps one copy of every extent and leaves protection to the storage behind the LUNs; what that storage does is not in the notes.

The sizes here agree with the disk table of the preparation notes (two data disks of 107.4 GB, one recovery disk of 214.7 GB). The oracleasm-discover output in the same notes does not: it lists ASMDISK2 as the large disk and ASMDISK3 and ASMDISK4 as the two smaller ones. See Storage and ASM disks.

The notes stop at the last Create Disk Group dialogue: no allocation unit size, no compatibility attributes and no listing of the mounted groups (asmcmd lsdg or similar) were recorded.

As builtToday
asmca in graphical mode, run as gridASMCA still exists and is the documented tool for creating disk groups
External redundancy on all disk groupsStill what Oracle recommends for storage that protects the data itself: "use external redundancy with storage devices such as RAID, or other similar devices that provide their own data protection mechanisms". The protection then rests entirely on the storage system behind the LUNs
ASMLib disks, discovered as ORCL:ASMDISKnASMLib is still supported and the discovery string ORCL:* is unchanged; version 3 works through io_uring without a kernel driver

The disk groups could be created the same way today.
